Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops

Stole this idea right out of the hands of Bakerella. I made them for a cute little treat for a family dinner at my parent's house this weekend.
They're so cute, quite TASTY, and very easy!!!! Take a look on her website for the tutorial.

Football kickoff!!!

With the kickoff of college football season coming up this next weekend (and pro season the week following) I thought I'd put together a few football party ideas. I know a few wives who aren't too excited with having an absentee husband for the next few Saturdays, but at least you can make a fun party out of it! ;)

I love the idea of creating a table cloth out of felt or AstroTurf. Use felt or masking tape to create lines like a football field! So cute!! source
.
And check out these football game day printables...

I love this coaster! lol And the football widow wine glass! Classic.
.
The football deviled eggs are such an easy and clever idea. They used chives to make the lace!

Love these cupcake toppers and wrappers!! Found HERE
And how fun are these football bead necklaces!!

If kids are going to be present this inflatable football goal post would be a hit!

oooh oooh oooh!!! Dollar General has a ton of football themed stuff right now for cheap cheap!!

So there you go...a few party ideas for your next big football soiree!!!

And now, an ode to my football themed creations....

A couple of sports themed cakes...

This has been a very sporty week!!

First a tennis cake...

And then a Baltimore Raven's cake...
Aren't these little guys so cute!?! My friend who ordered this cake is giving it to her husband for his birthday. He is a HUGE Baltimore Raven's fan so she knew she wanted something Ravens themed. And to go along with the Baltimore theme she ordered crabs to be shipped from Baltimore (his favorite meal). What a great wife huh!? :) So she wanted me to add a couple crabs to the cake to incorporate that aspect of the birthday dinner as well.

Such cute little guys...kinda makes you wanna feel guilty about eating them huh? ;)

No pressure....

This past weekend I made a dinosaur cake for Mr. Jack who was turning 4. This was a special cake because he is one of my best friend's little boys, AKA my future son in law, not to mention the son of Jamie Deen and grandson of Paula Deen...both of which are Food Network's greatest stars!!!

No pressure here right?!!?!?!

Luckily for me they're good friends and very easy going, so it really isn't too hard to make them happy.

Here it is...a dinosaur cake for Jack!

And here is the handsome little man with his dino cake...

Braves Hat

This one is for Jack who is turning 9 tomorrow!! Word on the street is he is a pretty awesome baseball player and my guess is he'll be drafted by the Braves one of these days. ;)

Happy birthday big guy. Don't forget about us little people when you become one of baseball's biggest hall of famers!!

An apple for the teacher

Today is my sweet baby Bailey's first day of Pre K. I wanted to win her a few brownie points for the school year so I sent her off with an "apple" for the teacher. Her teacher is going to need the sugar to get her through the days with this little monster. ;)

I'm really funny about trying to recycle containers for other purposes. (remember this? and this one too) I guess its my little "going green" contribution. So I saved these little blueberry containers...perfect for a single cupcake!! I washed it, dried it and decorated it....

Nana's Birthday Cake and Cupcakes!!

This little cake and cupcakes is for my sweet Nana's ??th Birthday...I say "??" because she won't let me share her age. **you can't see me, but I'm shaking my head** I don't understand it when people want to hide their age??

This is my 2 cents...life is fragile, precious and wonderful...why would you want to hide the number of years you've been able to celebrate it? And you should especially be bragging when you make it to "??" years old and look FABULOuS like Nana! :) I only hope I'm lucky enough to make it to "??" years old and have everyone adore me as much as we all adore her!!!!!!

So here is her cake...we're having a small family celebration today and I wanted to make her a little something to poke fun at her fear of sharing her age. ;)

Aren't these cupcake toppers so cute! They're mini Reese's peanut butter cups topped with icing, sprinkles and a fondant cherry.

Frog Cake

This guy came out a little grumpier than I had planned. I think he is upset because he has a fly on his nose and is unable to catch it for fear that his birthday hat may fall off. ;)

Poor guy....

Art Party

Today we had Bailey's ballet group friends over for a art themed playdate. I have been wanting to do an art party for Bailey for a while now so this was just a little taste of what I can do in the future as she gets a little older and is able to do more artsy projects. ;) I think this theme would make a great party for a 6 or 7 year old!!! I can't wait!! The activity possibilities with this kind of party are endless!!! But of course today, with 5 four year old girls we stuck to the basics...one little painting craft, lots of playtime, lunch, and OF COURSE, dessert!

So first up I have to show you what my poor little Bailey did for almost an hour before the party. Starting at 8:45 in the morning (party was at 10:30) she'd ask, every 2 minutes, "are my friends here yet?" Finally at 9:30 I said, "Bailey no! They're not here. Why don't you go wait by the door?"

Didn't think she would, but she did...

She set up two chairs by the door. One for her and one for sister.

I loved creating this fun and colorful lunch table!!

Time to make some art!

After painting it was time for the girls to have lunch. They each had their own lunch sack w/ their first inital embroidered on the top. After lunch the girls filled their bags with craft supplies from the art buffet!
