Transporation Themed Cake
This one was created for a little man turning two. He loves "anything with wheels" so this is what I came up with. :) I topped it off with an airplane because his birthday party is at the Peachtree Dekalb airport. The kids will play on the playground while watching the planes take off and land. (what a cool idea huh!?) So even though the plane doesn't have wheels, it goes!

This first one is for little Miss Piper's Halloween themed birthday party.

Cake push pops! You're gonna love these!
I'm so excited about these!! Easy concept, just cake and icing, layered in a push pop container, but so darn cute. These would make such a fun party favor and/or dessert buffet addition.
And even though I had a crazy busy weekend w/ cakes I just HAD to do these for Bailey's "Fun Friday" this week. The letter of the week in her preschool class was "P". They had a Pajama party w/ popcorn and PUSH POPS! (Princess and Pirate themed) Lots of "Ps" in this dessert so it was very accommodating to the letter of the week. :)
Check 'em out!!!

Thing One and Thing Two
I love this cake for two reasons...first off I love the way it turned out! (what a great party theme for twins!)
The second reason this is a cool cake for me is b/c I was making cakes for these little kids back when they were growing in their mama's tummy. One of my first baby shower cakes was created for this family...remember this one? Its nice to see these little babies are grown up to a healthy big kid age of ONE!!! :)

Gender Reveal Cupcakes
These cupcakes are for a couple celebrating their first child. They are throwing a gender reveal party tonight and these cute little cupcakes hold the secret. The inside is filled with pink or blue buttercream. (can't tell you which color as I might spoil a secret)
When its time for the big reveal all the guests will take a bite at the same time and find out what the happy couple is having!!!

Monkey Themed Baby Shower
You know you enjoy what you do when you roll out of bed at 4:45am to "work". ;) I've got A LOT going on this weekend as far as cakes go so thats what I had to do this morning to get a head start on the cake weekend!
"Time to make the doughnuts" my husband always says as I crawl out of bed in the wee hours of the morning. And I love it, so I'm not complaining...just saying really....while all y'all are sleeping soundly over the next couple of mornings I'll be up at 4:45 "making the doughnuts"! ;)
And here is the first cake of a long and VERY overbooked weekend!!!!

Dog Cake
Another birthday cake for Alex!! About this time last year I was creating Alex's 1st birthday cake and now we're on to the second. :)

Here is wishing Alex an awesome dog themed 2nd birthday!!!!
The colors of this cake were made to match the party plates below and the three dog figurines represent Alex's 3 dogs at home.

When my little Olivia saw these dog figurines she about died!! Now 18 months old she was screaming, "DOGGIE DOGGIE!!!! EAT! EEEEEAT!!!" reaching out for them like like she just HAD to have them!!! How in the world do they learn so young what is and isn't a treat!?!? To me, these dogs don't really look like food, but Olivia could sure tell they were!

Pump-cakes
A couple of days ago I was at playgroup with my little Olivia and us moms were sitting around talking about food and how to get our kids to eat it (isn't life so interesting when you have children?!?). ;)
A girlfriend of mine (a mom of FOUR) told us about this great recipe she has used with her kids. A healthy/allergy free dessert that will sneak some Vitamin A into your child's diet!!
Take a box of cake mix (if you use Duncan Hines Devils Food it will be milk and egg free) and a can of pumpkin, mix it up and bake away! A can of pumpkin has over 300% of your daily Vitamin A requirements so each muffin would be a decent source!

I decided to try it out and they weren't bad!! Bailey had a couple friends over the day I made these so they were my taste testers and all three girls gobbled them up!
.
You can treat is like a cupcake with a big dollop of icing on top.
OR a muffin, served up with some butter.
And you can even go in between, by drizzling a sugar glaze over them.
Disclosure...They're not very pretty when they come out of the oven. Kinda lumpy. And they don't rise very well, not like normal cupcakes. But once you put frosting on them you can hardly tell they're pump-cakes!

Halloween Cake Pops and Stand
I just LOVE this cake pop stand! So super easy and cheap. All you need is a piece of 2 by 4 wood (cut to any length you wish), a page of decorative scrapbook paper, modgepodge, ribbon and a drill. :) I found an awesome tutorial here. Check it out if you want to recreate this cute and affordable sucker stand.

I made these for our new neighbors who have been in their house since the beginning of summer. So this is considered a very late "welcome to the neighborhood" gift AS WELL AS a "thank you for bringing our runaway puppy home" (several times in the last couple of months)!!! Our little Charlie LOVES to dart out the door and/or slink under the fence without our knowing. Luckily our new neighbors are very good about catching him for us and bringing him to our front door! :) Hopefully these cake pops will help show our appreciation for all the times they've had to carry little Charlie boy home to us.
Pretty right? Its easy!! Give it a try. :)

And here is the little culprit...the inspiration to this little cake pop project. Don't let his sweet expression fool you. This man is one mischevious and sneeky little pup. If you hang around our house for longer than 10 minutes you're almost guaranteed to hear a loud,
"CHARRRRRLIEEE!!!!"

The boy is always up to no good...
