Don't forget about Santa!!!!

We almost did!! Bailey was so focused on getting to bed early tonight so that she didn't disappoint Santa that we nearly forgot all about his cookies!!

OMG, seriously...that would have been BAD!

About 5 minutes after I walked out of her room I thought, "OH NO!! We forgot cookies for Santa!!". So I ran up and got her out of bed to set up our highly thought out plan to figure out Santa's favorite cookie/milk combo!!! You see, he told us earlier this week when the girls went to sit on his lap that his favorite cookie was chocolate chip so we knew what his favorite cookie was...but he never told us what his favorite milk flavor!!?! So we set up a sampling station...this just basically covers all our bases and gives Santa no room to complain!!! (can you tell I'm a mom who is used to accommodating different food tastes??)

My money is on the ol' trusty regular white milk, (easier for future Christmas Eves) ;) but Bailey is convinced its either strawberry or chocolate.

I guess we'll know in a few hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

And carrots for the reindeer!!!!! (they're a little old, but they'll do)

Elmo for dessert...

Lately our little Olivia (16 months old) has been getting more and more interested in books and its been great!! She is so fun to read to (its about the only time she'll cuddle) and I really think its starting to broaden her vocabulary. One of her new favorite pieces of literature features Elmo dancing to "If You're Happy and You Know It". ;)

So I decided to make our Sunday night a little special with a new dessert in honor of Olivia's latest love interest.

Elmo is a furry little guy so I had to make him as "furry looking" as I could. ;) I was a little sloppy with these suckers, but in the end all that matters to my family is that there is sugar in them! ;)

Brian kept asking her if he could have a bite...finally she was generous to "share". Thanks Liv. The stick is empty! You're so thoughful. ;)

"Plain White Cake"

A neighbor of mine was craving one of my cakes, but had no special events coming up so she asked me if I could just make her a 6 inch round buttercream to nibble on over the weekend. I told her I could fit it in, but it would have to be a very simple, no decorations kind of cake b/c I've got a busy weekend.

So this afternoon I baked the cake, iced the cake...stepped back and looked at the cake...and all I saw was a plain white buttercream cake.

I COULDN'T stand it!!! I have issues. I've discovered I can't make a plain white cake. Its my weakness....

So an hour later I had this...SO much better than a plain white cake!!! ;)
