Today I threw a little Valentines Day party for my little Olivia's playgroup friends. We had 13 little toddlers (most under 2) over here this morning which translates into lots of chaos, cuteness and fun! :) Here are some pics from today's festivities!!

Go STEELERS!!!!
My husband is a HUGE Steelers fan (which I guess makes me one too) and tonight we're throwing a little Super Bowl Party with some of our neighborhood friends. My original plan for the party was to have half Steelers colors/decor and half Packers colors/decor and thank God I shared my plan with hubby ahead of time b/c he was appalled that I would include Packers decor in his home! ;) He basically forbid me from coming up with any Packers desserts or decor of any sort. So apparently this party is not really a Super Bowl party, but more a "Celebrating that the Steelers are in the Super Bowl AGAIN" party. ;)
I don't care who wins, (looking around nervously to make sure hubby didn't hear me say that!) but I'm certainly excited about getting together with friends tonight. :)
Juice boxes for the kids...had to cover them in card stock to make them more "football-ish". Gotta theme it out folks! (and yes, of course, its totally neurotic, but thats me!!)

I made this cupcake stand using a shoe box and another tall box I had around the house. Covered the bottom in green wrapping paper and added ribbon for yard lines...

There are going to be a few kids coming tonight so I wanted a way to get them excited about the game (and recruit them as Pittsburg fans). ;) So I set up a Steelers treat table complete with cupcakes, football juice boxes, cookies and Lil' Steeler fan kits. :)
Little football cookies! I'm pretty proud of these b/c this was my first time decorating cookies with royal icing. I love how they turned out and I had a lot of fun with them. Definitely want more reasons to practice!! (as if I don't already have enough on my plate!!)

Definitely blinged out in Steeler colors!!!!
These little football toppers are cake balls. Yummo!

The Lil' Steelers Fan Kits include a mini clapper to cheer on Pittsburgh, a whistle to annoy all the adults, a penalty flag to throw for any of the Packers' infractions, some M&Ms, and a Super Bowl Championship ring...

Go Team!!!!!

A Valentines Day treat!
I have a HUGE order of cake balls to fulfill by this weekend so I started working on them today. After rolling 100 (which isn't even half way through) and covering about 50 of them I got side tracked...bored actually, and I started playing around with a Valentines Day treat idea. This one I'll definitely be using at my Valentines Day party for our toddlers next week!!! :)

Is the cuteness killing you????

And of course, I've fallen in love with this theme for a party! I always do this...wish I had a boy whenever I come across a cute boy party theme. (not too sure my husband will think its a valid reason to try for a 3rd child) ;) So instead of having another baby in hopes that its a boy so that I can throw aWhere The Wild Things Are party, I decided to just plan a pretend party. :)
And for this type of party you've got to create lots of vines. Easy enough to do with paper. I found this kind of paper vine here. There are all sorts of tutorials out there for paper vines.
And check out those paper bag monsters. What a great party craft! I found that idea here.
And right under the paper bags are the crowns...gotta have crowns. Find more party pics from that party here.
Right under that picture is the cutest party outfit ever!! Gotta dress your little one up in a max-like costume so he can be king of all wild things! Source
Counterclock wise is one of my favorite quotes from the book. I think it would be so cool to make posters of some of the classic quotes from the book, scatter them around as decorations for the party. This one would be great on the door guests will be exiting out of.
And last but not least, a dessert table, junble/woods theme would be totally appropriate. Source
I Carly cake...no wait...its an I Mia cake!
I just finished my first cake in a few weeks. The break was nice, but it sure did feel good to break out the ol' spatula and get to work. :)

Kates in the houuuuze...or the kitchen I should say!!!
And my first cake of the weekend is is for our neighbors' little girl Mia. Mia is turning 6 and apparently she is a big I Carly fan. :) Hopefully she'll enjoy this cake as much as she enjoys her show.

Who's up for tacos?!
Yummy!!! These tacos are most likely not on your New Years diet! :) Shells are made from yellow candy melts w/ oreo crumbs tossed in. "Meat" is brownie, "lettuce, cheese and sour cream" are all icing and the "tomatoes" are chopped up Twizzlers.
Sweetest tacos you'll find this side of the border! :)
I know its a while away, but wouldn't these little guys make a great Cinco De Mayo party treat!
