Pool Party/Beach Ball Bash

This fun cake was created for a little boy turning 8, celebrating with a party at the pool! I had so much fun creating this cake! And no, the ball is not cake...its Styrofoam covered in fondant, but doesn't it make one cute cake topper!?!

Funny little story about this cake...my daughter Bailey has been waking up at 6:45 every morning this week (someone shoot me!) and she has been catching me "in the act". The caking act that is...5am to 7am are my cake hours. I try not to let cakes interfere with my #1 job of being a mommy so I wake up bright and early to get some work done (and some peace and quiet). So this morning when I was finishing this cake up Bailey came walking downstairs and said..."Mommy, I like your cake. I like all your cakes. You make a lot of cakes. Every morning I wake up and come down and here you're makin' a cake. Do you sleep mommy?" lol

Probably not enough is what I told her. ;)

  1. That's fabulous! Your waves are fantastic! I did some palm trees on a cake that were very similar to yours and I was just getting ready to post it soon! You really outdid yourself!

  8. Your daughter is so smart. Is she a Petronis? or a Bailey? Wait, she's both!!! Perfect!

Her uncle is so proud of her and her little sister, and now he's tearing up... Gotta go.

    Love to all!
